A cottage with everything a weekend away needs: a double-height living room, a sauna and a terrace facing the forest.
Design the interior and terrace of a standard cottage for an agritourism retreat in the commune of Boșcana. A compact footprint had to hold a living room with a kitchen area, a bathroom, a sauna with a rest area and a bedroom — in a layout that could be repeated across every cottage on the site.
The lower level holds the living room with a bar counter, a sofa and a dining table under glass pendants, plus the bathroom and a sauna with a rest area. The bedroom is lifted to the upper level and opens onto the double-height space, reached by a staircase with cantilevered treads. A covered terrace extends the living room, with a dining table, a barbecue, sun loungers and a hot tub.
According to the room schedule, one cottage measures 50.89 m²: living room 26.23 m², bedroom 13.50 m², sauna 4.40 m², bathroom 3.59 m² and rest area 3.17 m². The set includes plans of both levels, services drawings, elevations, furniture drawings and schedules of finishes, sanitaryware and lighting — 42 sheets in total.
The interior is light and calm: concrete-effect walls, timber and dusty-pink accents in the sofa, the poufs and the terrace chairs. The bathroom walls are clad in light tiles, a bowl basin sits on a wall-hung vanity and the mirror is lit around its edge. The sauna is lined with timber slats, with concealed lighting under the benches. The terrace façade combines vertical boarding with dark glazing frames.

Four decisions behind the standard cottage
The space is open to the roof: a cascade of glass pendants and a staircase with cantilevered treads become the centrepiece of the interior.
The bed is lifted to the upper level behind a glass balustrade, leaving the ground floor as shared space.
A 4.40 m² sauna with its own rest area and a shower in the bathroom — no need to step outside.
Under the canopy: a dining table, a barbecue, sun loungers and a hot tub, with timber underfoot and overhead.
