A small apartment that never feels cramped: light timber, one wall colour and furniture that runs to the ceiling.
Fit everything needed for everyday living into 42 m²: a full kitchen, room for guests, a bedroom with a desk, generous storage and a bathroom with a washing machine — without overloading the space.
The kitchen and living room are combined: a breakfast bar replaces the dining table and separates the cooking area from the sofa. In the bedroom, a desk for two monitors runs along the window and a TV console faces the bed. The wardrobes in the hallway and bedroom are built in to the full height of the wall and match the panelling, so they do not read as separate furniture.
The project album has 22 sheets: a survey plan, demolition and new partitions, a furniture layout, plumbing, electrics and lighting, floor and ceiling plans, wall elevations and drawings for the fitted furniture with schedules.
The finishes are restrained: light-oak-effect flooring, and Ceppo di Gre porcelain tiles in 600×1200 format in the bathroom. The walls in the living spaces are painted, and the lower part of the bedroom wall is clad in timber panels that continue into the headboard and the shelf above the desk. Lighting comes from track spotlights and pendants over the breakfast bar, with warm lighting over the kitchen worktop.

Four decisions for 42 m²
A three-seat bar extends the kitchen worktop and frees up the middle of the living room.
A desk along the window and open shelving: the study takes no space from the living room.
Built-in wardrobes in the hallway and bedroom, matched to the panelling — storage without visual noise.
A shower behind glass, a washing machine in a niche and a cupboard above it.
